You can ask the judge to not take your license, but it won't do any good. In Indiana, you WILL lose your license for the OWI. After a few months, you MIGHT be able to get a restricted license so that you can drive to and from work ONLY.

If you wanted to keep your license so badly, since you're a single working mother, maybe you shouldn't have driven after drinking.

At your Initial Hearing, they will read your charges to you, and ask you how you plead. If you plead guilty, they will have the probation department prefer a Presentence Investigation (PSI) about you, and the probation officer will make recommendations for your sentence.

If you plead not guilty, they will set it for a trial. After you're found guilty, or your attorney arranges some sort of plea agreement, they will have the probation department prepare a PSI...

At the Initial Hearing, the judge will order your license suspended and the BMV will be notified by the Court.

You have a child and you are out driving drunk? What kind of mother are you? I hope you get the max and your child goes to CPS. You're a disaster!
