Well, it depends on a few things. Does your workplace have a written policy against dating a coworker? If so, then going after your crush could have consequences on your job. Do you mind the people you work with gossiping about you? That's pretty much a guarantee if you date a co-worker! Will you be okay at work if your crush doesn't feel the same, or if you guys do get together and then break up?

It sounds like I am trying to dicourage you, and I'm not. I met my last two long-term boyfriends at work! It turned out great for me! But, there are things to think about!

If you are okay with what might come, go get 'em!!!!!!

YES! It's called sexual harrassment. Even if you aren't harrassing your crush or coming on to him, if it bothers him in the least bit that you have feelings for him and are trying to pursue something with him, then he can report you to your boss or Human Resources department and it can get you reprimanded, or worse - fired. If on the other hand, your crush is obviously flirting with you and is indicating that he wants to go out, then talk to him about it AFTER work, to avoid any problems that could happen. Many companies really frown on workplace romances. If you do pursue anything with this guy, remember that whether it works out or not, there is nothing worse than gossip floating around your workplace telling what you did or did not do with this guy. You could be hurt. Just be careful.

It's natural to have a crush however, do not fish off the company pier, dip your quill in company ink and so on and so forth. We all try it and it never seems to work out. Plus you have to see this person every day at work and also after hours? That's going to get old real quick.

In all seriousness, check your company policy manual, you may be subject to a reprimand or even termination. Not worth it, when you can meet a nice person outside of work.

Honestly it depends. Do you think you could still work together if things didn't work out? Do you have to see each other everyday?
A lot of people meet their significant others at work - most people spend more time there than they do at home.

I have dated people I worked with and there were a couple of times where it didn't work out and I was the one who had to move on and get a new job. People I worked with took sides and I lost touch with people I thought were my friends.

But I think that as long as you are both realistic about it and know what you are getting in to you should be fine. Who knows? You could be passing up a great opportunity.

Good luck!

Yes, if you decided to ask him out and he said ok. Then if things went sour, would you be able to handle working with him after the breakup? So most definitely yes unless you think that it'll work out for the better asking him out.

It's never a good idea to date somebody at work - but lots of people do it - because you MEET people at work.

If it doesn't work out - you'll have to face this person everyday.

Think about it. Weigh it up. If you still can't decide - go with your gut.
