No, it's actually quite mild and subtle. Of course, the more you do, the more apparent it is. It's much more noticeable when people are coming off of it, because they turn into fiends who will do anything for more.

Note: I have to agree. It is quite overrated.

Alright, first off, doing coke is nothing like drinking a red bull. I don't know what movies you are referring to, but I wanted to divide this into two categories. First, if you are a recreational user, then yes, the effects are very subtle. If you do it, you'll feel a difference. You want to talk a lot, feel like your nose is running [hence the sniffing], and you feel that you are pretty much the most important person in the room. One of the most intense feelings comes not from actually snorting it, but the preperation of the lines. It's definitely an activity and not a means to an end.

There are a few ways to take it, mostly people snort it. Then there is the practice of 'brushing' where you take the residue off the mirror or whatever surface you've done and rub it on your gums. If you do this, then your sinuses will get numb as well as your entire mouth.

If you are a regular user then you will have different symptoms and recognizable traits. You are probably taking a lot so you might alter the shape of your nose [sometimes you can even create a hole that can't be fixed] you might feel like your heart is beating faster [which shouldn't happen when you're just recreationally using], you will probably be jittery and your hands will shake. You also will not be eating or sleeping and those normal physical traits will reveal themselves as well.

So, though cocaine can be really intense, if you do it a ton, the normal recreational use will not show many effects. In fact, most people can't tell if someone is on coke or not, which I find interesting. I hope I've answered your question unbiased and as clear cut as I could.

The movies get this one pretty close to right. It is not so much like getting a red bull but like the wake up you get with your morning coffee. You might be "hyper normal" after, but were absolutely dead before.

My mother received liquid cocaine to help stop a chronic bleeding nose in the emergency room and basically had no effects at all from it before during or after.

Cocaine will in fact give most people a mild euphoria and over time will become addictive, not from the high it provides but from the profound sense of loss and depression you feel when you aren't using it.

I haven't taken cocaine but have taken codeine on many occasions and it has no effect on me, but dilaudid (hydromorphone) ... iiiiiiisssss .... wonderful .... oooohhhh .... you just drift away on a pain free cloud.

It's like powdered self-confidence. The initial snorting can sting a little, then you get a drip in the back of the throat which has a numbing effect. The high is subtle....not like being drunk where you lose control....but you overestimate yourself. Problem is that it becomes addicting very quickly....that's when you get grinding jaws, jitteriness, sunken eyes, etc....can't get enough.

Well--I answered your question. A good high, but so not worth the repurcussions

It depends on the cut. Generally, coke makes your nose a little numb, maybe it'll run a little, and you feel speeded up. You'll talk a lot, maybe fidget or move your jaw around. It depends on how much you're doing, too. One line compared to three...yeah, there's a difference. In the movies, the people usually are supposed to have high-grade stuff.
