When you switch foods on a dog it upsets their stomach so be sure that you switch back to your old dog food.

It might be the food change. Try mixing half his old food with half the new food (if that is the food you want him on). After a week give him a quarter of his old food and three quarters new food, and gradually you will get him onto the new stuff. That way it is easier on his tummy, and he will get less upset. He will eat when he is hungry, so dont fret. A dog wont starve itself to death because it doesnt like the brand of food it has. Once he is really hungry he will eat. You just need to change it gradually to stop any diarrohea and sickness etc.

Hope it all goes well.

Is there any particular reason why you changed his food? Sudden changes in food, can really mess up a dog's digestive system. You should just stay on the food he was on and that his system has adjusted to , unless you were directed by a vet to change it. When you change foods, you have to do it slowly. Mix half of his old food, and half of his new food together , and each day slowly, add a little more new food, until he's eating new food only. Like I said before, if he was doing good on his old food, I would stick to it, unless a vet told you to do otherwise.

It may have taken a few days for the new food to get into his systems and start upsetting his stomach. Go back to his old food and see if he will start eating that again. If not, take him to the vet - something else might be wrong with your little guy!

My dog is finickey. He will eat for a week and then not for a few days. It could be he is bored, lonely, not feeling well. Maybe you have given him a treat and that is what he wants so he is in a standoff. If you feel sorry for him, you might be more likely to give him a treat just to get him to eat, in which case he wins. If you do give him a treat and he doesn't eat that, then there might be a health issue and you should consult your vet. As people tell me, a dog isn't going to starve itself to death on purpose.

The person before me might be right, but maybe he doesn't feel well. Some dogs, when they don't feel well, don't eat much.
Try to go back to the previous food...if this doesn't solve the problem, you should ask the vet.

Good luck
