I have had stopped up ears for the past 3 days. My throat started to hurt, but now it's like a dull scratch. I am somewhat congested but it's mainly my ears. They hurt and are irritating. Any ideas on something to help. I dont want to go to the doctor b/c my mom had this before me for 2 weeks and they told her to just work through it, it was a viral thing. Thanks for the help!

If it's a viral infection, antibiotics won't work. Over use of antibiotics can make germs more resistant and harder to treat in the future. But, you can alleviate the symptoms with a decongestant--Dayquil, Sudafed. Sometimes it takes a viral infection 10-14 days to clear up. If you don't feel better soon, or you get worse, I'd go to the doctor to rule out a bacterial infection. Hot tea with honey will help your throat. Hope this helps.

it could be the start of a nasty infection cant see why a doctor wont help you tut
for the ear ache is too keep it as warm as possible ie: warm cotton wool in the ear if your due to go out anywhere and if your staying in lie on a warm hot water bottle covered with a pillow case or cover.

You should see the doc because the same thing happened to me and I didn't want to go ether but I feal so much better now she just had to clean them out with like a water pic make sure you ask for the water pic not the other.
