Bernie was invited to his friend's home for dinner. Morris, the host, preceded every request to his wife by endearing terms, calling her Honey, My Love, Darling, Sweetheart, Pumpkin, etc.
Bernie looked at Morris and remarked, "That is really nice, that after all these years you have been married, you keep calling your wife those pet names."

That IS funny ... my husband has always called me 'Kris' because that's my name ... and it sounds a lot 'more loving' coming from him than being called any 'endearing term' ... but my husband is one in a gajillion, too ... and I'll be Morris 'forgot her name' because he ALWAYS called her by those 'endearments' ... which make her seem more like a pet, and less like a human. THINK ABOUT IT!
