Absolutely - with my husband of nearly five years. I love him dearly. It's a damn good thing we're married, because otherwise we'd probably be stalking each other. I know I love him because...because he's the best part of my life. He's my best friend and confidante, and the cutest thing going as well.
As far as pining - sweetie, you can choose to stop pining. Go out and distract yourself with other things, social activities and school above all, because then you'll potentially meet someone more deserving, who will love you back just as intensely.

Yes!! And you just know!! I know that sounds so typical, but as soon as I met the man that I love I knew that all the others weren't love!! Yes I am still pining after him and I married him!! :-)

Like my mother, I fell in love at a young age. She was 14 and I was 15. For 4 1/2 years I couldn't even force myself to look at another. He meant everything to me and he never knew it.
I never hooked up with him. He was my friend, but he was different. He was special. It was like he saw ME. He wanted to know ME.
...but, that changed. It was like the hand of God smacking me over the head, saying "Get over him!"
I knew it was love and not puppy love because I am not the sort to pine and fall head over heals for anyone I meet. And I know to this day he was my first real love.
It happens...and...it happens again.

I have been in love. For me, I knew I was in love when she was not around or I could not talk to her, I missed her so. When I was having a bad day thinking about her would make me feel so good that nothing could go wrong again.

well... i am not sure ur definition of love, but it is different from crush. Crush is because you can't get so you want it badly, you have crush on somebody doesnt mean u love him, simply coz you don't accept failure, which hurt your selfesteem. When you have crush over someone, you want his response and pay back when you give out, but in love it doesnt matter.
if you love someone, you just do it for him, and you don't care if he pays you back or not.
you will give up ur life for the right person, in the extrem case

how do you know? if you can look at this person and say that you never want to be with anyone else for as long as you live, and you want to grow old with that person, you're in love.
