What is better Photoshop or GIMP? Or are they the same thing?

Adobe Photoshop is the professional standard in image editing and manipulation and in my opinion can't be compared with Gimp.

GIMP can do all of the same things that Photoshop can. GIMP is absolutely free. Photoshop can cost up to $700 depending upon what version you're getting. Kind of obvious which one is better.
