Hi! I'm doing a school project on different religions, and I'm looking for just one person to take the time to honestly answer these questions.
I would prefer to do an interview with someone who is a Muslim (because of interest).
Thankyou sooooo much!!!
1.What does your faith mean to you personally? Socially? Culturally?
2.How do you live your faith day-to-day?
3.How easy or difficult is it to practice your faith in the United States?
4.Which portion of your sacred scriptures is most meaningful to you and why?
5. Which is most challenging?
6.What holy places are especially significant to your faith? Why?
7.Have you ever been on a pilgrimage to a holy place or sacred site? What was it like? Are you planning to go in the future? How important is it for you to go?
8.What role does your family play in the practice and living out of your faith?
9.How do you view Christianity and the Christian church?
10.What is your general impression of Christianity?

1.What does your faith mean to you personally? Socially? Culturally?
My faith is my love. Islam means everything to me. I would willingly do anything for Allah (Our God) and/or His Prophets (Peace Be Upon Them).
As a Muslim I willingly follow the Qua'ran and Allah.
Soically...Hard one. Many people are racist towards us, so socially doesn't go to well in some places. But most people I know in real life don't care about religon. And neither do I, or what they think of me.
2.How do you live your faith day-to-day?
I live in America at the moment, so techinically I live like any other American - Except I don't eat pork and I pray 5 times a day.
3.How easy or difficult is it to practice your faith in the United States?
Not that difficult, it would actually depend where a Muslim is. There's plenty of racism in New York and other busy city places. But mostly it isn't very difficult to practice my faith in the U.S except the fact that there are fewer Mosques here then other Islamic places.
4.Which portion of your sacred scriptures is most meaningful to you and why?
The Qua'ran. Because it makes so much sense, teaches me new things everytime I read a new portion of it, tells me about Allah, the Jenna (Heavan), and the Prophets (Peace Be Upon Them). And so much more you can't even begin to imagine!
5. Which is most challenging?
What you mean by this question, I'm unsure of... I'd be more then happy to answer it if you restate it =]
6.What holy places are especially significant to your faith? Why?
The Mekkah/Ka'ba. It is the most Holy Islamic place in the world. All Muslims (That are able too) must go there once in a lifetime - But its not just a big black cube in the middle of Saudi Rabia!
Its so much more then that! There's a stone from Heavan placed on the corner of it where people ar ejust WAITING to get a glimpse of or touch (I was so close but there were to many people)
Our Prophet (PBUH) built the Ka'ba and it still remains today where many people come to do Omrah (Where we circle it seven times and do other things). Praying there is the most Holy place you could pray there.
For each Ra'kah (When we bend down in Prayer) you get 100 Good Deeds.
7.Have you ever been on a pilgrimage to a holy place or sacred site? What was it like? Are you planning to go in the future? How important is it for you to go?
Question One; Yes, the Ka'ba/Mekkah.
Question Two; It was VERY crowded but it was magical. (See question 6). Just to be there with thousands/millions of other Muslims and knowing we're not alone is comforting.
Question 3/4; Yes. In fact I'm planning to go there many times in the future, my father has already gone there almost a dozen times. It's very important to me because I'm closer to Allah and His Prophets (PBUT).
8.What role does your family play in the practice and living out of your faith?
Basically what every Muslim does. Prays and follows Allah's sacred words.
9.How do you view Christianity and the Christian church?
You'd be surprised how similiar the Bible and the Qua'ran are.
I know many Christians, I don't judge by religon though. I don't care whether a person is Christian or Jewish or Chinese or Japanese. I treat everyone (Yes that includes animals, I'm an animal lover) and everything equally and justly.
I think Christian Churches are beautiful, even though I never actually been in one, but I have seen many.
But of course I choose Mosques over Churches as a Christian would choose Churches over Mosques as a Holy Place =]
10.What is your general impression of Christianity?
No general impression really. Everyone is unique and indiviual. As Muslims are, but SOME people judge Muslims by the idiotic lunatical terrorists that bring shame to Islam.
They deserve to be punished for the greif and pain they have brought - Those terrorists are not true Muslims.
If you want more detailed answers, or want to ask me more questions or talk about religons/ect. feel free to Yahoo me at Pastismylove@yahoo.com
I'd be more then happy to give you quick and detailed answers about anything you want.
I'm online right now so you can Yahoo me anytime in the next couple hours for a automatic reply!

Islam is what I've been searching for most of my life without really realizing that I was. When I became Muslim it was because of the Aura of a very pious Muslim; I knew it was what I wanted. There were others who were skeptical. I couldn't blame them I knew nothing at all about it. It was after wards that I learned everything. Most American converts I've met converted after they married their Muslim husbands; as far as I know I am the only one who converted before and never dated any of my two husbands; the first and I are obviously divorced. I'm still with my second. I guess that's why I feel and see the spiritual side of Islam the way it should be seen. The best way to explain that is to have you take a gander at my answers. Most people I know if they are either born Muslim or they study it for a while; after that they make their decision. I didn't do that. People try to convince me other wise; you see them on this forum, I just won't budge. I really can't answer your social question, because I, myself am not all that social; I prefer to be alone. Islam is nothing at all like the Arab culture where it originated so I will not answer that question.
I live my faith day to day by looking to God and only God. I do as good as I can. I no longer live in the states; haven't lived there for years now, yet when I lived there no one really bothered me. I just did my thing.
The most meaningful scripture to me is where God tells us about a hand hold that we have with Him and that He will never let go.
The most challenging is when some one like has happened recently is the bombing of the twin towers; the thing is you cannot draw a picture of what belief is. You cannot convince those who do not want to listen. It is now over our heads that Muslims are nothing but terrorists.
The most significant places have been the mosque in Medina and the Battle of Badr. It's like a cemetery and you, at least I did felt the spiritual significance of it.
I can't answer the question about my family. Sorry. We don't get along and that was way before I ever became a Muslim. Ah Just call me the black sheep of the family.
Christianity is fine just so as long they don't start preaching. They have their religion and I have mine.
My general impression of Christianity is this. Basically they are good God-fearing people; we just look at things differently.

as a Muslim,
1. I am proud to be Muslim personally and socially. Culturally I see a lot of Muslims mixing the western culture with Islam, that makes me somewhat confused on some practices, not beliefs.
2. I live my faith very comfortably, I perfomr my prayers in the office, go for prayers, and try to maintain a distance from the opposite gender to avoid any physical contact possible.
3. Not that difficult
4. Quran and hadith and then Fiqh
6. Makkah, Madinah, most significant and then some other parts of Saudia, also Jerusalem
7. unfortunately I have not performed haj yet, I pray one day Allah blesses me with this privelage
8. supportive role, I enjoy teaching Islam to my kids and share notes with my family
9. with respect! I of course do not agree with a lot of beliefs and practices, but I do not lose respect
10. a religion which was definitely sent by Allah but completed later through Muhammad PBUH (last prophet). So the complete religion being Islam
Do not hesitate to write to me if you have more questions about my religion, peace

I'm a Muslim women. I would be happy to answer them for you. I'll just go and edit the answers right now.
1. My faith to me means that I feel i am truelly worshiping God like he wants to be worshiped. Socially, there is not really much difference there between before and after I became muslim. Socially I am a very friendly and open person. Culturally well i am a westerner born and raised, Scottish infact. My culture will always be scots no matter where I am or what i do, I'm still very patriotic to my culture.
2. My worship starts with first pray everymorning. At this time of year where i live that is around 5.55am. I get up wash for pray, then pray (obviously). I grab a few more hours sleep. Then my day is pretty normal to everyone elses. Look after the children, make meals, go to works, pray my other prays at different intervals in the day. Any meals i prepair or eat if they contain meat must be Halal (meat that is slaughtered in the name of Allah and drained of bloode). Watch some tv, read some Quran and of to bed to do it all again the next day.
3.Well i dont live in the US I live in England but my worship is pretty easy to practice here. I pray at home so there is no place i have to go and worship its not required of me to pray in the Mosque. I do sometimes go to mosque usually after Eid, but that is a very bussy time and a little crouded. We usually go to regents park mosque in London.
4.There are too many to mention.
5. Learning to pray in Arabic had to be the most challenging part of becoming a muslim but i soon picked it up.
6. Mecca is the obvious choice. This is one of the 5 pillars of our faith to make pilgramage to Mecca at least once in our lifetime if and when we can offord it.
7 I have not been yet so i cannot tell you what its like. I am planning to go in the next 4 years Insha Allah. Its very important to me as when done correctly it is like being born again free of sins.
8.Well I was not born into a muslim family. But i am married to a muslim man and all my inlaws are. My own family is very supportive and are happy for me to choose for my life what i feel is right. They ask questions and are interested so all in all i feel very supported by them.
9. I view christians as i do any other faith. I respect there beliefs and there worship. I have a few christians in my family so I know what its all about. No problems with it what so ever. Or the christian church. I view it like any other place of worship, in that i respect it as its followers.
10. My impression of christianity is one of like I said i respect it like anyother faith. I dont really agree with all the drive for recrutment and convertion. But no one is banging on my door so i cant complain. I think most christians are good people with good heart and feel they are doing the what they feel in there hearts, and who can argue with that?
I hope i was of some help. Anything else you would like to know feel free. Peace to you.
