God loves music. I dont understand Christians who say otherwise. Why in the world would he have "choirs of Angels" and animals made out of instruments in the bible.
It even says that Lucifer was the music director and he had musical instruments created into him.
I cant stand going to church with no music. I need worship to get me ready to hear the sermon.

I am a member of the church of Christ and I'm not bored. Maybe it is just the mind-set. I'm satisfied to worship God in the way the New Testament authorizes.
Jesus said he has "all authority" and he told the apostles to teach the things He had commanded. (Matt 28:18-20) Paul later said he had declared the whole council of God. (Acts 20:27) But none of the apostles ever taught the use of instruments in addition to the singing in worship of the New Testament church. If you don't have any authority from Christ or the apostles, then by whose authority or instructions is it added to the worship? If you follow the authority of men, then does Christ have "all authority"?
Every verse in the New Testament that talks about music in the church specifically authorizes singing. (The references are below.) Some of the purposes of this music is "speaking to one another", teaching and admonishing. The voice can do these things; a mechanical instrument can't.
It is more difficult to speak when there is a background noise, therefore if you add instruments, this may actually interfere with these scriptural purposes of music in worship of the church.
One of the verses that teaches us to sing is Colossians 3:16. Verse 17, the very next verse, tells us "whatsoever you do in word or deed, DO ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD". "In the name of" means according to the authority of or according to the instructions of the Lord. Again you cannot add an instrument by the authority of Christ because the New Testament no where authorizes it. You can't do it in the name of the Lord.
Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing the word of God. You can't play an instrument by faith because nowhere do you hear this type of worship taught in the New Testament.
Acts 17:25 says that God is not worshiped with men's hands, but to worship with an man-made instrument tries to do just that. It is trying to worship with an instrument that is made with hands and must be played with hands. Again the Bible tells us what instrument God wants. We are to make melody "in the heart".
Boring? I don't find it boring to worship God in the way He instructs because I love God.
Besides, worship is not suposed to be focused for self entertainment. Our worship is to be directed to God. Why not be satisfied to worship Him in the way His word instructs?

There is no restriction on genuine worship in the Bible. The ancient Hebrews did a lot of dancing. I've seen it even today at Messianic services. It's cool.
As far as music goes. God gave us our individual talents in order to worship him w/them. Music is a common way that people are moved by God's awesomeness.

There's music, just no instruments.
It's a fascinating interpretation of the Bible--for Cof Cers, if there's not a specific rule or precedent allowing it, it's not considered Biblical---they cite a verse where it talks about singing with your whole self or something like that as a prohibiton against instruments....

I used to belong to a CoC and the music was not boring. They made beautiful harmony with their voices. In most churches people sing very low so no one will hear them. CoC members are encouraged to really sing--soprano, base, tenor, or even just "make a joyful noise". It was beautiful and uplifting and was not drowned out by instruments.

Accapella harmony singing can be quite beautiful. I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I know that God looks at the motivation of the heart. Worship is worship, whether done with instruments or without.
