My doc. prescribed me Celexa today for anxiety/stress/depression but I don't think I want to take it. I have taken Zoloft and Paxil before and didn't like the side effects. I already dropped my prescription off at the pharmacy. Should I just not go pick it up and tell me doc I decided not to take it??

Your doctor prescribed it? Like your psychiatrist or your general practitioner? If you did not like Zoloft/Paxil, you are not going to feel the side effects are much better on Celexa. I have been on all three and I feel better/more myself off of these drugs..They mess with your body chemicals (like metabolism) and can leave long lasting side effects - most of which the doctors know nothing about at this point!
Anyway, if you have a definite chemical imbalance, then maybe the pros outweigh the cons...BUT there are other ways to treat mild depression and anxiety. If yours is related to stress, it sounds more situational. Try massage therapy, talk therapy, acupuncture, exercise (just get outside and get some air!). It may be worth it to check out alternative therapies. I just went off Celexa in August and recently started feeling normal again. I deal with some depression and anxiety but I make more improvements off drugs! Remember - the drugs just cover up the problem, they don't actually deal with it. So, one or two years from now, you could decide to go off it again and your problems are still there...

I took Celexa for about a year and I really cant recall having any side effects. If you have that strong of feelings about it you should talk to your doctor and see what other plan of action you can take if any.
