Means everything happens when God is ready for it to happen. You may want a new job next week, but until it's your season, God isn't going to give it to you.

This relates to everyday life.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1
To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: A time to be born and a time to die...
this is in reference to the purpose of life , that to go through the seasons of life without God only gives us temporary satisfaction of existence but only God can give us a life worth living for the life that He gives us is permanent and eternal. There is a greater purpose and greater satisfaction living for God.

Pete Seeger could answer that except he's no longer on this earth. He wrote those words in his song "Turn". He was a man of the "old time" religions and many of his songs are taken from bible verses.
It would seem the meaning of the verses are clear. Put quite simply, everything follows a pattern: the Alpha and the Omega.

Just what it says. It means there's a time for everything.
One doesn't die before they're born. Flowers flower in the spring. Many animals are born in the spring.

Farmers plant in the planting season for which they are planting, and harvest when things are ripe.

Life has seasons too. We are born, learn, possibly reproduce, raise our young, grow wise and eventually die.

Everything happens in seasons, and each thing has its time.

THERE IS A SEASON AND A TIME

Time for man is not the same as time for God:
Eccl.3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. 9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. 11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

For the first one, "To everything there is a season." It means, that everything happens in its own time. And for the second one of "a time to be born, and a time to die". Everyone has a time limit on this earth. God knows exactly when we will be born on this earth, and he knows exactly when we will take our last breath. No one on this earth will live for ever.

The secret to peace with God is to discover, accept and appreciate God's perfect timing. The danger is to doubtor resist God's timing. This can lead to despair, rebellion, or moving ahead without his advice.

It means there is a time for everything that takes place.
It is from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and it is one of my favorite passages in the Bible.

I believe that the author of the book was referring to the fact that life is full of ups and downs. Life will be full of happiness and sadness. People will be married, people will die. It's all a part of life and we should expect it.
The author of that book was writing as an old man, looking back on his life. He commented on the silliness of all the things he filled his heart with, realizing that in the end he couldn't take them with him into death and that he was no happier for having experienced them- they were silly. In the end we should fear God and enjoy life. It is into this context that this verse was written.

A neat concept...unless you apply it too literally.

A time for everything means there is a time to disembowel cats and a time for yodelling. A time for line dancing and a time to listen to Paris Hilton teach you about world history.

You are referring to the song "Turn" by the Birds. I'm not sure where those verses are. Looks like it's from Psalms to me. Try googling those verses then read the entire Psalm(s). Should make more sense.
