My brother serves in the Navy. The post office has a flat rate box that you can get and fill with somewhere around 8 pounds of whatever. We usually got personal sized chips, and candy and stuff like that(like you would put in your lunch). My brother likes surfing, so I sent some surfer magazines, and some girly mags(Like 'Maxim' and 'Stuff'). We also sent letters for him, and his unit. Some of the guys dont get a lot of correspondence from family, so if you had a friend write a letter and send it along, the other guys in his unit will appreciate it. Try not to send chocolate bars, as they tend to melt.
You might also send small personal products, like sunscreen, tissues, etc. I sent my bro a pack of those disposable toilet seat covers...I know it sounds wierd, but the facilitys on the boat, and overseas can sometimes be not-so-user-friendly.

basically ensure you do no longer deliver something that should perish or soften, ie chocolate (I made that mistake). I used to deliver issues like toothpaste, socks, letters, magazines, pork jerky, dip(coppenhaigen long decrease, lol), infant wipes(unscented), and breath mints. the factor is asking on the place your soldier is stationed, you do no longer decide to deliver issues that would entice interest like cologne. a great style of them ought to dig holes to apply the bathing room and then conceal it up, so as that the heady scent would not entice the enemy. additionally, you do no longer decide to deliver issues that should gradual them down like heavy issues or awkward issues. they might finally end up having to bypass away issues at the back of, however the presents would be lots favored as they are waiting to apply them. you need to be so happy with your self for doing one among those spectacular factor for somebody. those adult males (and gals) must comprehend that they are favored, and individuals such as you're making it ensue.

most anything really, but you need to keep some things in mind.
depending on where they are and what they're doing it could take about a month for him to get it. so perishables might not be a great idea.
Alcohol and tobacco are no-nos.
and anything that you want to send him is gonna need to fit into his rack- if youu haven't seen it- its only about 4in deep and it has his clothing in it already.

Truthfully, I would send him a pocket pussy. He'll get the most use out of that. Well, he is in the NAVY. Maybe you should send him a mirror so he can hold it up and see who's knocking on his back door.

Different food items like, popcorn, cookies you baked. Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, little cleaning supplies like that. Pictures of you, (if you know him).
If you call the Red Cross, they will fax you a list of things that you can add and things that you can't.
