I met this guy online, and we've been chatting it up for about four months now. He's in the military, overseas, right now. And he's so in love, it's almost confusing & frustrating. I believe he has feelings for me and cares about me, as I do him, but Love?

the Internet is a powerful tool that has changed dating and meeting people in ways most people 10 years ago would not have even thought of, its private and at the same time your at arms lenght-secure, the thrill of meeting someone new is a rush and makes ya kinda crazy. chatting with someone you have not seen is also addictive. the feeling of love and joy is just part of the addiction. your smart to see it for what it is. now! not saying you cant have a long term relationship but I to be in Love is not possible. without some time together in the same room without a monitor lol hope it works out!

He's out in a foreign country, probably not very comfortable surroundings, around mostly other men in a not very pleasant place. A guy in that situation will fall in love with the first nicely dressed fencepost who has a civilized conversation with him.

He's just in a BAD situation, and chats with a young (available, potentially pretty, potentially desirable) woman are probably the only fun he has.

I'm not saying you have to return his feelings with the same intensity if that's not how you feel, just trying to give you a sense of why he's doing it.

well i think that since they have been isolated from relationships and have been away for a while they want to enjoy there stay home and have something to look forward to when they get back. If he really said that he loves you after 4 months then thats perfectly normal. if you have met him and you seem to like him 2 then i guess thats great! but if you havent met him yet than i think he may just be dessperate. be carefull of online dateing and remeber that he is a person that has feelings 2.

They thing they're going to get killed, so they want to take the plunge for the first time before it's too late.

They're in a hostile environment, seeing death around them all the time and they're scared they're next. They're mostly young kids who have never been married or thought they had time to find the "right girl" and now they feel death is quite possible. So they want to meet a woman and marry her before they die.

I think the military men just fall in love too fast period. They just want to be treated right. All their asking for is for a little love but then it just gets annoying...

Maybe he's infatuated with you. People get love and infatuation confused all the time....but it seems like you have a pretty good grasp on the meaning.

He is away from home, that hurts!! How do you think sooooo many women got pregnant just in the Korean War??? And they would NOT except a baby that was part American so they went to an orphanage.

it's good to be skeptical. i mean soldiers are hard up when overseas so their sexual senses are on overload. just try to mellowing him out a bit and tell him to take things step by step.

they are at a loss for outside human affection and dont realize it, so they compensate in that way- which is dangerous and a false sense of security for them and prob some silly women
