Matthew 7: 24 - 27
"Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock.
"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.
"And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act upon them, will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand.
"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

doesn't anyone realize what this really means? Its a parable told by Jesus that says if you live your life for the Lord than you will stand firm but if you live your life for the world then you will fall.

The foundation upon which I built my house is the Golden Rule, an ethical motto esteemed by many different cultures because it works. Based upon what we know to be true, we have but one life to live, and because that one life will one day end, it should be cherished. I believe it matters very much how we spend this precious time and we should strive to live the best lives we can. For me, I try to live a moral, useful, and fulfilling life by the guidance of reason and human compassion. I believe this foundation to be sound; of course, only time will tell.

The age before science, the bible was a very good guide book, however in the face of modern human development, many religious believers are building thier house in the clouds.
He starts of 7 with the words, Judge not, that you be not judged...
its lots of good advice, including (12) So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them...
Hey, Jesus, in this account of his words by Mathew, even said that words will not get you into heaven, it is actions... I am an atheist, but I respect others, and try to live my life in a way that looks after the planet for future generations. I like to concentrate on this life, not dream of a life after this one.

Jesus is my rock. The Word of God will never let me down. There are too many houses built on sand.
May God Bless you.

most seem to build a flimsey house /temple on solid rock ,that when the winds of temptation and doudt tears through it is as if no temple stood the foundations thankfully remain upon which to rebuild any temple [in but three days ,and infinate ways]

Most people build their homes on rock or mud and lay a concrete foundation. You can build you home on sand if you like as long as you build a deep enough foundation. Or you could build it on stilts if you make the stilts go deep enough into the ground.

Concrete, on top of a solid clay and gravel sublayer. I considered imported BurkaStone below that, but thought it was a bit over the top.

Neither, I built my 'house' on a foundation of science and logic.
