why is there fluid coming back to the reservoir on my 1988 olds?

i am bench bleeding a new master cylinder and there is no more air in it and when i push in the piston i have fluid coming back in the rear reservoir .ilooked in the old one and there is no cut off port to prevent fluid from coming back ,need help
