Are you asking about the .38 Super??? That's a hard caliber to find and it will cost some bucks. Colt made a limited run a couple of years ago. It was like $1,600. Llama and Star (Spanish manufacturers) made 1911 clones once upon a time. If you can find one you might get lucky and get it for around $300.

Taurus and EAA both have guns in .38 super starting at around $300 U.S dollars.. So they can still be found.. but ammo maybe hard to find at a decent price...
Why don't you just get a .357 magnum ?

You most likely wont find one for less then $600, their not the easiest to find and usually a high grade manufactor on those bad boys. That means premium parts and a good name stamped on the slide. So good luck in for journey.
