Yes, there is more caffeine in green tea than in black tea.
But you will find more caffeine in most Chinese green teas ( long jing, ding gu da fang, lu an gua pian...) than in Japanese ones.
Moreover, there is vitamin C and vitamin E and many other good trace elements in green teas.
rule no.1: do not boil the water , it would spoil the flavor of this delicate kind of tea!
rule no.2: don't put one spoon per person in your tea pot, it's a waste of tea and generally one or two spoons is enough for a good result!
rule no.3: don't infuse more than 2 or 3 mn. It leaves a tanic taste.

There are some brands of "Green Tea" that doesn't have caffeine. But the "Lipton Green Tea" DOES have caffeine. When you buy "Green Tea", make sure the box says that it's caffeine- free. It usually does. Hope this helps!:-)

Decaffeinated if it is after dinner--you don't want to have trouble sleeping. The caffeine isn't the beneficial part of green tea. Otherwise, drinking coffee or soda would be recommended for losing weight.
