I Don't Know, but I have the same problem. I worry so much about pointless stuff, and then when it acctually is important, i get alot of anxiety, more than usual. If it really is bad for you like it is for me, maybe you should go to your doctor and ask them questions.

First you need to understand what situations put you at the greatest risk for anxiety that gets out of hand. Its not as simple as not worrying so much as some dumb@sses say. Find connections between times that you feel increased anxiety. What is the common link between those situations? then when you know that you can avoid the situations. Also, talk to your doctor. If this is interfering with you daily activities, work, school, relationship, you might be much happier on a prescription medication to help control your anxiety. They won't make it go away completely, but the will keep it in check so you can gain control.

I am single mum. I have been suffering for panic attacks for some 15 years now, though it was not until recently I understood what they were. They were progressively getting stronger and more frequent, stopping me from some days even leaving my house. I read this book and it all made perfect sense.

I am not saying I was not terrified of putting theory to action, I was more scared of that than the next attack! But I decided to view it as a game, one I had control of and could therefore not lose!

Yes, if you have a mild case of anxiety (not passing out). Breathing techniques help as do gradual exposure and acceptance of the issues that cause the anxiety.

Go to your doctor so he can tell you that you're okay OR he'll wind up giving you medication. But be careful and don't get addicted. I had an anxiety attack that lasted 6 months and it took a toll on my body. Just be social and if it doesn't work, go to your doctor.

Two things together, get into therapy (you could also medicate it with a psychiatrist). And with bvetter self talk - when you start to panic look around and say (to yourself) I am in a perfectly safe place there is no reason to panic I am going to be alright, then do deep breathing exercises

For me, personally, only with meds. I've been to therapy and was told, finally, that I was born this way.

For others, such things as meditation, yoga, self-help books, therapy, aromatherapy (lavender is relaxing), Chamomile Tea, Valerian Root, Melatonin (for sleep), a healthy diet and vitamins, enough exercise and fresh air.

I went to a therapist who helped me identify what was causing the anxiety, and helped me cope with it. She used hypnosis also and taught me to self-hypnotize and do relaxation excercises.

Good luck.
