I have been with the same girl on and off for over three years. I have broken it off with her a couple times because I felt I wasn't ready to commit to just one person. A lot of my friends just cheat on their girlfriends and that is their solution to my problem. I am always worried that someone better will come along. I love her to death and we get along great. Everything in my future is planned around her, but I still have this fear that someone special might come along and make me think I may have made a mistake commiting.

If you spend you life wondering what if, you have wasted your time. Its tough commiting to one person, but if you are going to be with someone go all out and be with just them! A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If you happen a few years down the road to find someone better you, can make a decision then what you want to do. But if your afraid to commit you may wake up and be 40 years old alone, and be wodnering what if i had stayed with the girl i really loved? I hope this helps!

I am/was in a similar situation. I actually thought I was always going to have problems with commitment because I always wanted soemthing more. I relaizdit wasn't always the guy, it was me too. And until your sure about yourself and what you want from life, it's hard to decide who you want to be with. Once you fugure that out AND are with the right peson

The important thing is that you remain very honest. Tell your girl that you are unsure about your future together, and that you need time before you get married. As long as you're honest she can then make decisions based on what she wants out of life. Whose to say she doesn't feel the same way?The worst thing is when a guy drags a girl along, and isn't honest with her....

oh, and if you cheat on her and she finds out, it will complicate everything so much more- it won't be worth it.

It seems that you really love her, so why not commit to her? If anything she is going to get sick of waiting around and find someone else. Do you want to loose her and then realize that she was the right one in your life this whole time? Even if you commit to her and somebody better comes along you can always break it off later on. I think that this may be the one for you and you don't want to screw it up! You'll find out what you should do on your own.

Tell her she needs to take self-defence classes, get some pepper spray or mace to carry with her. Suicide is also the most selfish act there is a person can do. Your friendship should mean more to her than taking her own life. Counseling isn't a bad idea either. She's getting herself all worked up over nothing. The world could come to an end any day now, but do you see the rest of the world going crazy? No, we just go to work and pray that God protects us in our every day living and the ones we love. She needs to calm down and quit letting things get out of hand. Has there been anymore fights since then? Probally not, the girl made her point and that's all there is to be said. You can't go around living your life in fear, other wise it will take controll of you.

Hey, my view is that when that special person comes along, yal know it in your heart. It might seem it bit scary a first to make a life long commitment and its hard not to confuse love wid other things, but if u love her to death like you say you do, that means you'd give up most things for her, and you'd save her without a moment's thought if she was in trouble. Just ask God to let you know when that special girl comes along. Good luck! By d way, i admire ur committment!

i think you just answered your own question. i think that if you have doubts then you should never settle for less. if you think that there is something better then seek it. there is 60 percent of divorces you don't want to be that percentage. some one told me this story. i had a friend that was engaged to a great guy but she for some reason just didn't think he was the one in couple of months she started a new job there was this guy. he maid her laugh maid her feel like a godes. and she went out whit him for couple of mounts broke up the engagement and married the guy she worked with. there still together its been 5 years there happy and have 3 kids. the point is something when your least expecting something good will happen that you seek just be patient

You're not ready to commit period, at least not with this girl. If you feel that something better will come along...then you'll never feel differently.

Do her a favor and break it off. You and I both know its the right thing to do.

Good luck.

Hi ya,well if you think like that about someone "better" coming in your life and destroying your relationship you'll never be happy.Give yourself a chance, give LOVE a chance!! If both of you love eachother then go for it,take your chances, besides three years is enough for you to know what you want in life! Good luck!!

Look, you keep thinking that the right girl, that special someone will come along, but until that happens, if it does, you should keep dating your gf. If you do meet that girl then you break up with your gf, and go for the special someone...but dont make a stupid mistake now and loose your gf.

Look, if you have to ask yourself that maybe there is someone better who might come along, then I think you are not in the right relationship. Someone who loves someone to death does not have to ask themselves that question.
