I would assume the crew members working on the Predator would be stationed alongside the drone, but what about it's operators? Can they be back here in the US?

The pilots operate out of Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

Yes, the launch technicians have to be near the site, but the actual pilots and operators can be anywhere. The exact location of the pilots is a secret of course, but I believe I have heard they have a pilot center in arizona somewhere.

Given the state of satellite communications, I am confident the operators can be stationed back here in the US.
