I have been friends with a guy for quite some time now. I am really feeling him so much. He is 26 and im 21 not much of a difference but he is a very well round, smart and funny guy. He calls every now and then now he use to call more. He has told me that he loves me more than at leat 7 times. While talking to him last week he told me that he would love to be in a relationship with me BUT, its just the long distance would not work out. We live 4 hours away from each other. Last night when I talked to him, he called 4 in the morn and he couldnt sleep, so he decided that he would just go ahead and try to get some rest. So i replied saying okay goodnite and before i hung up he said " hey, I LOVE YOU" and I was like whoa, Here is the deal, he just whats to be friends with me RIGHT, then why does he keep telling me that he loves me deeply, and the most confusing thing is that, we dont talk like we use to and then as well, he talks about girls trying to talk to him to me. Please help.

dont sweat it it sound like he is the confused one, perhaps he was tired of waiting for you to like him back, perhaps he has just moved on and only wants be your friend, but then again if he said he loves you perhapes he means he really does "care" for you just not in a realtionship kind of way.
Why dont you just ask him what he meant by that

Even at 26 most guys have no clue what they want in life. For girls, it's about the same way. He obviously has strong feelings for you, but he's right---the situation is not right to be in a relationship. Long distance NEVER works out. It's a fairy tale. However, since you guys are not going to be together as more than friends, you should tell him how you feel. Let him know you know he cares about you, but please not to say "I love you." If this doesn't help, you may have to avoid him awhile so he gets the picture. It can be tough, but you don't want to put unnecessary stress on yourself.

I think that if you two lived closer, you could be a couple. Maybe he has a bad experience with long distance relationships. I know I have!! It think he truely does love you and he would take it further but you need to reassure him that it could work out. 4 hours away is a long drive to go to dinner and a movie. It would have to be a weekend thing and you would have to comfortable with letting him stay over or staying over yourself because it could get expensive otherwise. Gas is not cheap either. Give it a shot! Good Luck!

He may really be in too you. Long distance relationships are hard though. Why don't you let him know how you feel. Tell him that if he truly doesn't want to "try" to have a relationship with you, he should cut out the "i love you" stuff. Just be friends, and then YOU move on.

Love is a big word and often misused. People misuse it all the time ... we say we love everything from people to inanimate objects. He sees you as a friend ... nothing more and nothing less. Don't dwell on a relationship that will probably never happen because it will prevent you from seeing what is right in front of you. Don't get caught up until you are ready and don't ever settle.

Ok he keeps saying he loves you, so I guess he does. But its hard, he doesn't want to commit to something that is probably not going to work cause you guys live so far away from each other. If he tells you about other girls its only to make you jealous and see your reaction.
Either way you should find someone more close to home, there`s no point getting hurt on purpose

It seems to me that he might be manipulating you a little bit ... He is not that young and inexperienced, so he knows that love (if there is love) can make long distance romance live and blossom.Sounds to me he is just playing on the safe side with you, with no intention on something like serious commitment .If you want to play games too, OK, if not, prevent being hurt

He's stringing you along. Find a nice guy closer to your age and location. There is a huge difference between 21 and 26. He graduated high school before you started. Stop taking his calls and focus on the people physically around you.

Anyone could say the words " I Love You" it is the action that matters the most. He is probably in a confused state of mind. Let him sort out his thoughts, do not pursue this, just go on with your life and date others.
