If it's a manual transmission it's comming from your transfercase. If it's an automatic transmission it's comming from either the transmission or the transfercase. Either way go have it looked at by a mechanic.

This could be coolant or transmission fluid. Coolant will be a bit more dense than water, while tranny fluid is closer to the consistency of motor oil. With the engine cool, remove the radiator cap and check the color & level of the coolant. If the coolant is green, then the leaking fluid is likely coming from the rear main seal of the transmission. Use the transmission dipstick to check the color and level of that fluid.

Either from the dead body of someone you ran over, or it's transmission fluid. :Þ Hopefully the latter.

You would do well to check the transmission fluid dipstick before driving it again, or ask a guy to, as it's a tad dangerous as the engine has to be warm & running when you do it. [No offense to females that embrace auto mechanics - I just don't want anyone to get hurt doing something they haven't done before.]

Good luck~

Transmission fluid. You have a leak, most common place is rear main seal, between tranny and engine. it needs to be replaced. a quick fix is an additive stop leak. I recommend Lucas Brand transmission stop leak.
