Does it really eliminate the smell completely? I'm seriously wanting to get a cat but Hubby is concerned about the smell of litter. The only place to put the box out of the way is our pantry. This would be a bad place for liter smell.

I have 5 female cats in my house and 2 liter maids. I can say before the litter maid you could smell cat in my house now you can't.. If you do get one I have a tip for you when you get the liter maid it will come with 4 plastic receptacles for the waste I covered
outside of the receptacle with duct tape to make them stronger as the replacement containers are $15.00 for a box of 15 here in California.I also line the inside of the containers with the plastic bags I get from the market or I use 4 gallon trash bags when the receptacles are full all I need to do toss out the bag.If the receptacle is dirty I take it outside and rinse it out.

We had one and it was ok with the smell, however, it had a tendency to get "hung up" and keep running the scooper arm back and forth until we unplugged it. Never seemed to fail that it would be in the middle of the night when we were trying to sleep. Other than that is was ok. Might want to try the sifting type they sell at WalMart for about 10 bucks. It has 2 trays and you lift the sifter out and all is left is the soiled litter.

I have one and, as long as you empty the plastic receptacles frequently, there will be little or no smell. If you let the waste accumulate, though, since the receptacles aren't really sealed, the area around the box will smell terribly.

I don't have an electric one, but I scoop my cat's box in the morning, afternoon and evening. The three-scoop-a-day method is foolproof. There is absolutely no smell!
