They will give him a time frame to pay a certian amount. After that, they should contact his work and start taking it out of his paychecks. That way you dont have to worry about him not paying, because child support and his job is taking it out.

I live in WI and when i filed for child support they started garnishing his wages right away....that way you will no have to fight for it....most courts theses days do that first thing....so your kind of problem doesn't come up....but i would say that if he has papers saying he has to pay then if he doesn't this time the child support agency should take him back to court and garish his wages.....just make sure that you stay on top of all of this and know your rights....fight for what is yours and you childs, you might one to think about getting a lawyer or at least finding one to ask these questions to....i know i had one and it made a BIG difference......talk to you child support agency....they can help you find one....good luck.

Yes, they do garnish right away. But, if he is like my ex, he will move from job to job or work under the table to avoid paying. By the time they catch up with him and start to garnish, he quits and goes to another job. Loser.

In my case, you would have to file specific paperwork to have the courts or the state garnish his wages, THEY DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY GARNISH HIS WAGES. And you would also have to file specific paperwork for them to garnish his income tax return.
If he decides to not pay it then he won't until you have the courst garnish his wages. If he keeps avading you, he will get caught. and when he gets caught he will go to jail. I read in the paper the other day that someone was pulled over and then put in jail because they owed $107,000 in back child support. Sucks to be that a$$hole!

They Will get him just let him keep denying to pay because 1st they will garnish his wages then they will take his taxes and give them to you and after all that he will lose his license, I know because I'm going threw that as we speak. I get all of his taxes plus i get a weekly paycheck from him for my Little girl.. so don't give up it will all pay out in the end...

I don't know how it works in Minnesota, but in Wisconsin his place of employment will get a notice to start withholding child support from his paycheck. I would assume most states do the same thing. You could always check with an attorney.
