The hairdresser should have corrected it or you shouldn't have paid if you weren't happy.

This is a common problem for dark haired women. You can have blonde added, but it takes quite a bit of time and money to maintain it. First of all you are going to need a professional colorist to correct the problem. If you decide to give it another try, the hairdresser should use a two-step process that involves stripping you hair of pigment before adding a blonde tone/color to it. Then you should get a clear touch up (it's like getting your hair colored only it's clear) every 3-4 weeks to prevent the color from turning brassy and it will provide shine. Be sure to use color-safe shampoo and conditioner at home and use hair products with SPF and/or wear a hat when you're in the sun. Also, take care to avoid exposure to other chemicals such as chlorine. I've had my hair done several different times like this.

First of all they should have given you your money back... Second, did they put toner in your hair? You need to find out. If you were in the sink for a long time with goop on your head, chances are they did tone your hair. What you need to do is call around to other places. Ask them the types of ingredients are in their product. *after you have found out what product the other place used on you* Explain your situation and I am sure someone will be able to fix it... I'm sure you will have to pay alot more money though =( Good luck hun!

Hi Saz

Im sorry to hear of your bad hair day.
First thing, being that you wasnt happy about you hair, the salon has to correct it, if your still not happy and they cant offer you another solution they shouldnt charge you , so you could go to another salon that can help. so did you Pay, if yes go back to that salon tell them to correct it, if they dont, ask for a full refund..After doing that and you have no luck you can contact, comsumer direct, (trading standards), The salon has a duty of care and didnt provide you with that.the reason. A)didnt colour your hair as asked. B) They didnt offer you a refund. C) didnt offer to correct the colour for you.
By the sounds of it , you need an ASH colour added to the blonde, which will lift the Orange.please dont do it your self, coz the ash has to be watched when added.
Go Back to the salon, ask for colour correction or refund, and after that find another salon, go for consultations to make you feel happy and comfortable with that salon.
please let me know of your out come.

Good luck
Sonaya

I am no hairdresser but would have thought that any competent colourist would not put blnd into black hair as the result would be orange.

The best advice I think would be to call the salon, ask to speak to the manager or owner, tell them that you will be going to visit a competent colourist and they are going to have to pay the bill..

If you are genuine and it is really poor and they wont pay, get as much photographic evidence as possible of your hair, and then go to the small claims court, this will cost you £50 and they will then crap themselves....

Your hairdresser is being lazy they can color correct your hair. It wont make your hair blond like you want it but it will make your hair look alot better. I also hope that you didn't pay or tip this hairdresser. Seems like she doesn't know what she is doing.

Good luck!

the same happened to me. just colour it light brown. if you try to bleach it again your hair could fall out. colour it darker light brown is OK and wait a couple of month and put some treatment in your hair. later you can lighten it up again and go this time to a specialist.

i guess you had a trainee colourist
she didnt leave the bleach on long enough.

go to the salon and demand they fix it and make sure a different hairdresser does it for you.

or try one of those shampoos for blonde hair to help take the orange tint out of it.
