Nonsense , there is no known cycle as such , it's only the fear created by the Hindu religious leaders and the earstwhile Rulers to scare the public and create guilt among them. Simply bow down in front of Shiva Linga and the whole system of cycles so preached is demolished . No preacher ever proved it .
Sin is not in the action , it rebounds after the action . Even the actions are because of the society you are born into .
For some people one thing likke sex the primary biological need of the creator to create is a sin and OTHERS is a fun .
Getrid of the thoughts of cycles .
Lord krishna says " Abandoning all Dharmas of the body , mind and intellect , take refuge in me alone , I shall liberate thee from all your sins " That means you surrender your ego and follow that the God is the Doer and you are an instrument or a medium through which He acts .
Moksha is also a desire and attatchment .It is an imagined entinty
of the ceasless becoming the Universe .
Why do you need Moksha for , we human beings already in Moksha as we are the spiritual beings part of the GOD himself and are his children travelling the earth for a human experience and shall render this experience at some other place in the Cosmic Universe where it is more in demand , to assist our Father Universal Soul .
Remember we Humans beings are in ascension and are progressing towards the GOD himself .
The new generations are becoming more and more multidimensional .
Do your Karma with devotion without expecting results and leave the rest to the God Almighty the Universal Father Who lives within us . Get the best experiences out of Life and travelling gives you the best of experiences . Take it while you keep breathing .
Think positive always .
We humans beings are the light and sound vibrating and dancing enery of the Universal Soul our Father .

This is a question for your temple. If you have any doubts about your faith, you should talk to a priest or guru. Posting it here, where the vast majority of people aren't Hindu, will only get you wrong answers from people who aren't qualified to answer. Oh, and I don't believe anyone goes through the cycle 8.4 MILLION times. Anyway, take this weekend to go to a temple, pray for a while, and calmly think yourself over. What have you been taught by your parents? What do you believe yourself? Do you consider yourself a practitioner of the Vedas? Talk all this over with your guru/preist, as well. You'll find the answer. And lastly, beware of attempts at undermining your faith or converting you to another.

It is a hindu belief which have no roots even in their holy books.Although the life after death is in their book but it say not about of millions of years. It is a misunderstanding.Because they could't give justification of why one is rich and other poor, why one is handikapped other not.So they came up with this philosphy.Based on deeds, if you did good deeds, you will be born in next life rich.If bed deeds subhuman like dog, monkey any animals. This is know as sumaskara. But if it is true than today the world should be fill with animals because sins are at its best high.Yet we know animals are decreasing in numbers.God say in last and finel testament ie Quran this life is test for hereafter which is eternal. If you do good deeds u will enter paradise,if worng than hell. The more you are whealthy your test is taugh.Because you have to pay charity to the poors only for the GOD almighty.Poor have no such obligation.

it is not at all true that you have to undergo life and death for 8.5 million times.
its nonsense who told you that ?????????
everything depends on your karma. if at the time of dying you think only of the lord you will attain moksha
if you have accumulated necessary virtues, you will attain the lord's feet.
you have already passed through so many births to obtain this human form which is called in the vedas as the gateway to salvation
eventhough you might have sinned, by surrendering totally to the lord you will be delivered from this cycle of birth and death
this is not an endless cycle. once the time is ripe you will automatically be released from bondage.
this is called mukthi

I believe that man is created in God's own image and wanted a loving friendship with man. God is eternal and He wanted man to have eternal life too.
That is why He sent His own Son Jesus to show us how we can get the eternal life. Jesus died just like any human but resurrected (rose up from the dead) to show that there is life. But He also promised that anyone who believes in Him will live in Heaven (Moksha) and not perish. You don't have to die a million deaths but can go straight to heaven after your soul leaves the body. So that's not death at all.

According to Hindu faith, you have to work out your past karma. The purpose of your birth is that you work out all your past karma, good or bad, and the whole cycle of birth and death, are only to enable you to bring the balance of karma in your account to nil. All the spiritual excercises are only for the purpose of expiation of the result of your past evil actions and of enjoyment of the fruits of your past good actions. I do not think that a fixed number of cycle of birth and dealth is prescribed.
