No, I think that is a personal decision one should make through prayer. Personally, I think as long as you don't killl any of the eggs that you should do it and thank God for the miracle of modern medicine. God bless you.

Ha! The question itself got a laugh out of me! I don't think they had Invitro back then. But, bible thumpers are known to conjole meaning out of passages. Arcane writings, like the Bible, rely on interpretation-interpretation that can be manipulated and spun anyway.

No! ..but this will not stop some unreconstructed fundamentalist coming on spouting about respect for the sanctity of life, while supporting capital punishment, bombing abortion clinics and either preaching or visiting hellfire and damnation on all who do not conveniently fit their own peculiar mindset. Wouldn't it be great if they rejected all modern technology as the devil's own work and abandonded their computers and the internet altogether! (don't get many Amish people on here...)

No, but only God is supposed to know how to create life and He does not like having puny man doing the same.
He has enough trouble with the devil running around spoiling His good work, giving forbidden fruit to Eve and causing his son to come and get crucified.

Nope. However, the story of Onan suggests that it's not a good idea to accidentally or intentionally spill the fertilized egg onto the ground.

The people who wrote the bible did not know about that sort of technology so they could write about it. The bible was not written by god or inspired by any god as much as the religious people would have you think it was. It was written by men and they could only write about what they knew about
