its my girlfriends birthday soon and i was wondering if any of you got some good ideas?

rent a hotel room and have a bouquet of her favorite flowers waiting there and let her order room service and just make that night all for her.
take her to her favorite restaurant and give her a peice of jewelry or whatnot
rent a limo for a night and cruise around town then stop at a nice restaurant.
cook for her, give her a massage, run a bubble bath for her.

It's tough for us to answer because we don't know her, but since I am a girl, I think I can help.
Jewelry is always nice, same with roses, but the best thing you can do is get her something that is meaningful to her. Get her something that has to do with a hobby or something she loves.
