well if you're hair is naturally curly then you should have no problem whatso ever...but using hair products like moose and foam to scrunch it works very well also...
i also use it to keep the style in and the frizz out when i have my hair curly..
but if your hair is naturally straight then have it permed...=)
but make sure you know what size of curls you want..=)

Theres a special trick that the pioneers used for this. You take a cloth (a clean dish towel works well) and cut it into strips about 1"x 24". Take s small section of damp hair. Find the midpoint of the cloth strip and hold it against the base of the hair. Hold it taught and tightly wrap your hair (the tighter and small the around it until you reach the bottom of the strip or your hair isn't long enough to continue winding. Now take the other half of the cloth strip and (it should be at the base of your hair) wind it overtop the hair. Once you reach the bottom tie it off. Its best to do this before you go to sleep becuase it dries while you sleep. hope this helps and good luck!

get a blowdryer with a diffuser (a big thing that expands the airflow) and scrunch the hair as you dry it. To do this, literally grab handfulls and squeeze as you're drying. The diffuser prevents the dryer from blowing the waves out. Put some mousse in before you start drying.
Scrunching basically uses your natural curl pattern and tightens it some, it's super easy but it might take a few times to get it right so don't get discouraged the first time.

I would do your hair the morning of, so you wont lose the curls like you do if you sleep on it.
When you get out of the shower let it air dry for 5-10 minutes
Then start blow drying it, and instead of using a brush, use your hands. The only way I can describe it is too "scrunch" your hair with your hands, while blow drying it. Like, you take a chunk of your hair and you squeeze it between your fingers while blow drying.
It works great for me, nice curls that will last through most of the day, and if not they usually just settle into waves.
Good luck.

Well braiding your hair would be the best way, but if you don't know how that can be a problem! Try scrunching it, too. That should work but the best way i know is hot rollers or braiding!
PS
Here's some sites for learning how to braid hair!

Well putting two plaits in it either side overnight will make it wavy but beware, finger comb it when you take them out or use a wide toothed comb then a bit of hair serum or you will have serious frizz.
Or you could scrunch it with a bit of mousse which will make it messy rather than curly but that's kind of cute.
Or this website may help you:

Good luck!

i have wavy hair too. i used to hate having the "in-the-middle hair" it was never straight and never was exactly "curly"....but now, i work with my hair, instead of trying to make it work! THIS IS SIMPLE!!!! use this shampoo & conditioner (you will see & feel the difference after one use, believe me its amazing!) http://www.finessehaircare.com/shampoo/s_moisturizing.html
then once your out of the shower......wrap your hair in a towel to catch the excess water...pat your hair just a little bit with the towel....then TAKE THE TOWEL OFF!......tilt your head over....then put your fingers to your scalp and gently rub your entire head (this is getting the hair to move around and find its natural waves & curls) ...then let your hair "air dry." thats all there is to it. I would call this "beach blown waves." Want more of a curl? then add a curl enhancer after you pat the excess water off. then again, let it "air dry"....Its not good to blow dry your hair....b/c it does exactly that, it dries your hair out and will make it frizzy. thats why i say to air dry it. I hope you find this helpful

Try buying hair curling shampoo from Pantene. It really works and it will give u beautiful ringlets. Or if u want the scrunched look then when u wash your hair, try to scrunch it with a paper towel while drying it.

lol, I know you said dont say "braid it" but if u dont want to curl it or roll it, thats really your only other option. section or "part" your hair off into small or large portions (small for small waves, large for large waves) and then braid each portion. better to do it when its wet. spary them with spritz, sleep with the braids, take them out in the morning. and there you are. not exactly curls, but close. best you can do without actually curling your hair. good luck!

Okay.My answer does include braiding but oh well.Okay obviously braid your hair and just leave it like that and don't take them off for 2 days. Then after 2 days have passed, take them off and your hair will be curly!I've tried it too and my hair looked sooo pretty.
