I don't know why people are avoiding answering by just stating that it can't work.
I've heard of a few success stories. This is how you can make it work:
Talk everyday.
Buy webcams and talk online.
Email.
Make frequent trips to see each other.
Be honest.

It doesn't work, LD never works because you can touch or get intimate with one another. Trust me, I've been there.
