If they are raised together, there is no problem. But if not, first, it is a matter of body language between cats and dogs. Conflicting signals so to speak. If a dog wags his tail, he is happy. If a cat lashes his tail back and forth, he is angry. That is just one example. They are both predators as well, which means they hunt things smaller than them, by instinct. Especially cats. But both will chase something that runs from them if it is smaller than them.

They don't. It's just a thing to tell kids to keep them interested. Like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Jesus.
The truth is, it's more of a hunting and instinctual/territorial thing, like humans and the French.
Dogs are territorial and cats are nosy and sneaky and annoy the dog enough for the dog to rip the cat apart. But dogs can sometimes befriend cats.
Cats are sometimes easily amused and chase little mice for fun and sometimes food. Keeps them active as well.
Mice are ignorant and think they are very smart. This irritates the cat and the cat therefore wants to rid the world of them.

One of the theories of the con flict beween dogs and cats is in that the dogs raise their tails for joy and this sign makes cats ready to fight. So when a cat is confronted with a dog in such situation it cures up the back and meows angrily, and the fight starts. Cats like playing with little moving objects, and mice will constitute a wonderful toy for them

I also have a dogs and a cat. The dogs is barely annoyed by way of the cat and desires to attack her while the cat is working around. If the cat is in basic terms walking and not getting scared from the dogs, no longer something occurs....They the two in basic terms scent one yet another and play slightly. while we take the dogs outdoors for walks the comparable component occurs...if she sees a cat and the cat starts to run away or get scared then the dogs is going loopy!! yet while the cat in basic terms sits and stares then there is not any issues... i think of that's in basic terms the quickly flow..The dogs gets excited and sees it as prey...yet purely while the animal is appearing like prey!!
