All you need to grow catgrass is seeds, soil, and a container. Catgrass roots aren't very deep so we use some old baking pans (a bread pan and a round metal cake pan, to be precise). Most pet stores will sell just the seeds, and soil you can buy at any hardware store.

- fill your container partially with potting soil
- water it well with a spray bottle
- sprinkle the seeds on the soil (don't worry about spacing, it's grass crowding is OK and more decorative)
- cover the seeds with more soil and spray down with more water.

Put the dish someplace where it will get plenty of sun and where the kitties can get at it. you'll usually see the grass start pushing up in 2-4 days.

Catnip is pretty easy, too, though you need a MUCH larger container as it will grow pretty big. Seeds you can get at any gardening store, or your pet store might sell them.

Cats are probably one of the easiest pets to take care of as long as you have the right conditions and money. Depending on the cat you get then that depends on the amount of work. If you get a long haired cat then be prepared to brush everyday. On the overhand, a hairless cat will need sunscreen during the summer and coats and jackets during the winter. But if you get a short haired cat then brushing is not needed as much. They are generally very independent. Although some breeds will want more attention than others. But its just a matter of feeding and watering everyday. Make sure you have a litter box and toys. I really recommend a scratching post. Unless you like ripped up furniture. And I would get a female or neuter your male. Males tend to spray. So Yes generally easy to take care of but I would do some research before you make your decision.

You can buy plants at some pet stores. All you do is plant it somewhere in the yard and it'll grow...keep it away from your cat though, I had a plant that was growning nicely until I found my cat laying next to the empty pot in a verrry relaxed state of mind!

Go to your local nursery and buy a starter plant in the Herb section. Instructions for planting will be on the tab.
