I make it a rule to tip waiters and hairdressers at least 20% . More for the hairdresser sometimes, since my hair is so long and very thick and curly. It takes a lot more effort that the average hairdo. Once I tipped a hairdresser $40 for a fabulous new cut, style and highlights. She spent hours with me and the changes she made really worked with my facial structure and skin color. Then I went to see my daughter and she was blown away with my new look.

10-15% of the total bill. If you can afford that much to have your hair done, you can afford to tip. It's like people who go to a fancy restaurant, the bill is $100, and they leave a $5 'cause they don't want to go broke. The tip on $100 should be 15 to 20 dollars at least.

20% is a good estimate. If she is "totally awesome" then you could do 25%, but with a bill of $200 that's an extra $50. So I don't know... :-) But something in that general range.

At least 20%
Why such a range in the hair cuts? Do you grow more hair every 8 weeks than times prior? Hmmmmmm

In restaurants it is twenty percent, I think it is still this anyhoo. We do not go out to eat much.
I would think anything you feel is appropriate. Knowing some of these people do not make much of a wage it is good to tip. The mocha lady (no men work there) always get a tip from us!!
