If its just the ABS light (yellow) coming on, then yes it is safe to drive, its just that your ABS will not be active, so if you really mash the brake pedal hard, the brakes will lock up and your stopping distance will increase. You should get this fixed soon though. But if your actual brake light (red) ever comes on, definately don't drive the car until its fixed. The red light means something is seriously wrong with your braking system.

When the abs light comes on the abs unit is inactive however the brakes will operate safely in dry weather. You will lock up the tires like the older cars if you make a panic / quick stop. It's much safer to repair them ASAP. The car can be driven with extreme caution, good luck.

It is ok to drive. Just the ABS unit will not work. Meaning the brakes can and will lock up under hard braking. Under normal everyday driving you are fine. Mine has been on for almost two years now. Just try not to put yourself in a situation of tailgating especially in wet weather.

Is it safe? Depends on whether the brakes need maintenance, or just the indicator light. There is only one way you're going to find out without getting in a wreck and getting yourself sued for not maintaining your car. You're going to have to bite the bullet and pay to have it looked at. No one here is going to be able to answer your question without seeing your car.

It means that there's something not quiet right with anit-lock system. If you notice nothing wrong, such as a pedal making noise don't worry about. Without abs, you have regular brakes like an old car.

yes as long as the light is amber and not red, more than likely you have a bad wheel sensor and you just won't have anti-lock brakes, they will act like normal brakes where the tires will lock up on a panic stop.

You cant, this is going to constantly come back on if the subject isnt fixed. I wouldnt unplug the battery because of the fact this is going to easily come back on.' The tape concept is in all hazard your purely achievable answer.
