In law enforcement you have terms referred to as "hot" or "fresh pursuit."
It doesn't matter what jurisdiction you are from (City, County, or State) that enables an officer to pursue across state or jurisdictional lines.
However, most agencies will NOT pursue across their jurisdictional boundries unless the pursued is wanted for a felony offense or an offense that could result in more than one year in jail.
One last thing to remember is this....as an officer...I will insure that if the pursuit becomes more dangerous than what is considered a reasonable risk...or if life and property is more in harms way by chasing than NOT chasing....I will stop the pursuit short of murder, kidnapping, or where a firearm has been used against others!
Hope this helps.

Yes. It an legal concept called "fresh pursuit." A law enforcement officer can follow someone he/she is chasing into any jurisdiction---as long as it's a continuing chase. In other words, if the officer is chasing someone, the officer does not need to abandon the chase at the state line.

It depend on your force policy as well as state laws. some require that you Know a crime has been committed and some only require that you Believe a crime has been committed. The severity of the offense is also taken into consideration. And then there are some departments that do not allow pursuits across state lines no matter what the circumstances.

Yes, i believe so; it's called "hot pursuit". Often they will have radioed ahead and officers from the next state will be waiting to take over the chase too.

That's a tricky question there my friend! Its both a yes and no, If you have an outstanding Felony warrant out for your arrest and the police officer that is trying to pull you over knows it, then yes! they will follow you untill you are caught regardless where you go, unless you go to Mexico, If their tying to pull you over for running a stop sign, boken tail light or any infraction, they once you pretty much leave the county line the pursuit will end and they can't follow you

the 1st time I heard the place they have been from, i presumed they had to start up a conflict between Russia and united states so as that Chechnya could get their independence. :-) If it wasn't that, then it became some sort of jihad. yet I enormously doubt they have been linked formally to any terrorist group - the bombing could have performed so lots greater harm. might desire to be the phobia element that they have been attempting to tug. although, if the guy's tale keeps to be observe for observe then some thing is off. that did no longer make experience to me the two. yet although a large style of issues did no longer upload up. you would be bowled over on the undeniable fact that individuals do no longer observe alot of issues. He wasn't shot at, he became dragged under the automobile his brother became driving and died. we will purely wait and spot what happens. The older one is ineffective and ineffective adult males talk no thoughts, the greater youthful one has a continuing tale yet he can not talk. truthfully, for me the older brother looks like a killer. the greater youthful one has that harmless look on his face, this is like how might desire to he do this? yet although, this international is crammed with loopy human beings. do no longer forget, you have all the photos pointing at those 2 brothers. The oddest concern for me is that when the 9/11 the U. S. gov't is in many circumstances on surprising of all of those issues. The Russians warned them concerning the elder brother and it became like despite in reality. His mom says he could no longer do it because of the fact the FBI became preserving tabs on him, and then all of the sudden they elect to no longer save on with him? So confident there are some off issues, yet each and every thing else factors to them doing the bombing.

He is allowed to continue the pursuit, but must radio the officers in that jurisdiction so that they may make the arrest.
