Does anyone know if in the state of Illinois if you get just a warning do you still have to pay a fine? I got pulled over and I know the officer said "sign here to verify that this is just a warning not a ticket" But I still have to pay so maybe he mixed his words up... I'm not sure. Does this sound right to anyone?

If you have a copy of what you signed then I suggest you read it.
There is no possibility of a conviction with a "Warning" so there's nothing to pay. If it was a warning you signed, then the officer just documented that you were warned so there is no argument next time you're stopped for the same offence.

Normally in the upper right hand corner of the ticket there should be a box where you see a box that should be checked if it's a warning.

If it's not checked or there is not a box there....look where the ticket would indicate a court date and time...if there's nothing indicated there...it should be a warning.

To be SURE it's just a warning....contact the agency of which wrote the ticket and ask them!

Best wishes!

Generally a warning is just that and there is no fine associated with it. Did the officer give you a warning for one violation and a ticket for another?

study the returned of the warning. it extremely is going to tell you what to do. If no longer, then call your interior of sight municiple courtroom. If there grow to be free of charge ticket issued (purely a written warning) then there's no high quality or courtroom date.

Doesn't sound right to me a warning should not carry a fine.

You could call the department and ask. You could even ask to be put through to the officer's voice mail, and ask him yourself. Just be polite and respectful in the way you word the question.
