Consider Moses, who couldn't enter the Promise Land because of just one sin. The question to ask oneself is whether it was what he did, or was it that he thought that since he had a good life otherwise, he deserved to get in?

What do you classify as a good life? Does that mean anything except following the teachings of Christ that are inconvenient or unpleasant, like preaching God's Word from door to door?

The Jews had the sacrifice of the lamb on the Alter for the forgiveness of their sins. We have the sacrifice of the Lamb of God for the forgiveness of our sins. Even though Moses had the sacrifice of the lamb, and had led an overall good life, he still could not reap the reward.

Perhaps those who get resurrected to everlasting life on Earth will be able to ask him about it, since he was not born of the Holy Spirit and could not have accepted the Christ in order to get into heaven.

No. The eternity will be made up of the children of the living God who's govenor will be Jesus Christ Himself.
Those who follow Him will be there. Those that oppose Him will not. This holds true whether you are "good" or not. That said, if you are a really good person and the end comes and there you are with Christ - He's not gonna just throw you in hell and forget you - He is the one guy who actually knows why you believe or don't believe in Him. So, if you don't believe in Him, He will give you the 1000 yr period to be taught. Then, you will perhaps have a different answer. Its not a second chance, not at all. Its just that God knows that with whats being taught (or not taught) out there, that many don't have a chance in hell of learning the truth. So, He intends to make sure every person does have a chance.
But, no, being good doesn't automatically get you into Heaven.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

According to Jesus and Paul, only God lives a "good" life. You are assuming something that is humanly impossible, since all mortals have sins that need to be forgiven first before we can get into Heaven to be with a perfect & sinless God.

Well, no.... no one can go to heaven 'automatically', they have to be chosen by God to reign with him in heaven. On the other hand though, in order to live on the earth in God's new system of things you have to first of all take in knowledge of Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ (John 17:3) and also accept Jesus' ransom sacrifice (John 3:16).

The vast majority of persons will be resurected to life on earth (Psalm 37:11) but many religions ignore this promise.
Remember Jesus told his desciples to pray for Gods' will to be done on earth also..("Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven")

Being good isn't a factor when it comes to determining whether you are going to heaven or hell. You must admit that your not perfect but that God is, you must believe God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins out of love and was raised from the grave on the 3rd day and you must commit your life to living for God and not just for yourself. If you do that you'll go to heaven but if you reject God and his love then you won't. It's that easy, please except Christ.

No one is righteous no not one.All our righteousness is like filthy rags before the Lord. That is scripture
No one can get into heaven unless they are perfect from birth to death. That means No ONE.Jesus was perfect and substituted himself for us.Now when God looks at a Christian ,He sees Jesus' righteousness on us,that makes us perfect in His eyes.
St. Paul said,"It is by Grace (unearned favor) through faith and not by works(our own effort) least any man boast. It is the gift of God".

Jesus said..."I am the way the truth and the life, no one shall get to the Father except through me."

Accepting Him in your heart is the only way...

He gave an example of people living good lives when He said,"some will cry Lord Lord, I healed and prophesied in your name?"
and He said, "I do not know you."

God's not accepting good people, He's accepting those who have given them selves as children to Him.

Your beliefs are up to you. Are you going to believe a religion that demands obedience in exchange for entry into Heaven. or are you going to believe that you get into Heaven through a good life? Christianity is selling bogus tickets to a ride that's always been free, and they don't want you to know it.

No. You need to believe with all your heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and He paved the way to eternal life for you. You need to ask God to forgive your sins and let Him know you want to start a new life with Him. The rest almost takes care of itself. Because you want to please Him you will want to do the right thing. It's not as hard as people seem to think. You pray and read the Bible and go to church because you will want to learn about God, not because you have to. You'll want to. You will not be perfect and God does not expect it. He just expects you to live life the best you can, go to Him with your problems, and talk to when you mess up. Good luck and God be with you.
