I agree with answer #2. You have lowered to her level. Even if she is it makes you look just like her. If you be nice to her anyway and don't gossip about her, people will support you the next time she says something mean. My suggestion is next time someone starts talking about her stay out of it.

A good rule is never say anything about someone that you wouldn't say to their face.
I think being mean is better than being two faced.

If you stoop to name calling then yes you are mean, but guess what so have I and many others as well......Learn to bite your tongue. It's very important that you learn how to control yourself. Try not to allow another person to push your buttons to get you angry.
