We're in hs and have been going out for 6 days. I may be his first girlfriend, I don't know. His friends say he's really talkative, but whenever I'm around he doesn't say much and he trys to act "cool." How do I get him to just be himself?

Some people are what is termed as "introverted", which means they can open up infront of friends, but become very quiet when they are emotionally excited or nervous. Also, try and understand that mens mind are wired a little different to womens. We men, at that age, are rather mixed up due to residual hormones. We try to be "The Man" around our friends, gobby and bold. But stick us in front of a woman and you get the following sum:
Men+Hormones+Attractive Woman = Jello (Jelly in the UK).
Oh and if you are panic ridden after only 6 days, don't be! Give him time to stop acting Chimp with rabies!
Hope this helps! (And keep studying!)

Sounds like you haven't known him very long, which isn't good since now you're more than friends. Were you even just friends to begin with? I'm guessing not because if he can't be relaxed and comfortable around you, then that is a big problem.

Tell him you sense he's uncomfortable around you and ask him if that's true. If he admits it, ask him why. You can't 'get' someone else to do anything, but you can try to make him feel comfortable. Try spending time alone with him just watching tv or a movie. He should have no reason to act anything but relaxed.

Or, you might want to just be friends if he doesn't start being himself.

im sorry to say htis but ur anxiety might be reflected onto him. the more u relax the more likely he is to feel comfortable.
why dont u meet him up whilst there are his freinds around or else in a place where ur sure he feels comfortable in. u ve only known each other forr 6 day so dont expect too much :)

after all it only means that he likes u a lot and wants to impress uand is afraind that he will look like a jerk infornt of u.

try to pass some compliments about his character and tell him how u think it is even greater if he could just relax coz u know ther is more in him that he is not letting out that u would like to see .... but again its only been 6 days :S

Time my dear, hell it took my guy four years before he started to pass gas around me so everyone has a limit. For you it is way to soon let him find his place with you and by all means don't push him, he will and if not maybe never so you decide on if that is something that you are willing to deal with in the future but again it is way to soon to start with assumptions I say give it a month that should be more than enough time. Good luck.

Give him some time, girl! It's only been six days - what do you expect him to do after six days? Tell you all his deepest secrets?

Take it slow.
