Hello all I recently bought this TV http://www.olevia.com/jsp/products/specs... and was wondering if I should set up my Xbox 360 for 720p or 1080i. The native resolution is 1366 x 768 on the TV. I am connecting via component and cannot select 1366 x 768 so it's either 720p or 1080i. I have a hard time judging the difference between the two but maybe someone out there has experience and can help me out? Btw I know that must people say 720p is better because of progress scanning but has anyone experienced anything different?

In both cases 1080i or 720p, what you see on the TV is 720p.
The question is, who is doing a better deinterlacing job, Xbox (set to 720p) or your TV (input 1080i)?

It is quite possible that without test patterns you will not be able to see the difference and that's OK. So don't worry too much.
I would pick 1080i because the less times you scale is usually the better.

I have a 1080i TV so my out put should be 1080i from the xbox,

but with 720p it cant show everthing, it will look like it is, but it cant, so certin game are going to look really weird

leave it on 720p and it will always match your TV

Oh by the way the differnce between 1080i and 720p is that frame rate on the p is 60 and on the i is 30, so on some things the p does look better
