She forwards all this crap to me that other people send her and it's really annoying. However, she is hyper-sensitive and if I don't choose my words carefully, I'll have the whole family in an uproar because I've offended her. I'd love it if she sent me a personal message, but enough with the junk mail!

You can use the "filter" that many email programs have to separate the "junk" from any personal messages. If the stuff she forwards is all similar, that should work. If it is all different, maybe you can filter out ANY "forwarded" mail. Or you can set up a new folder "grandma" and have all mail from her sent directly there .
That way she will not know that you did not actually see it all. If she asks you about something specific that she sent, just tell her that you get so much email that you must have missed it.

At some point, the newness will wear off and she will stop forwarding so much.

An alternate way to get her to stop ( and I don't really recommend this ) is to do the same to her ---clog up her email with all kinds of things that are of interest to you (keep it clean!) Then, if she complains, you can say "But I thought you would like it since you keep sending me stuff you like."

Just delete it and go on....... maybe send her a message saying..... * Hey ya Gram, love hearing from ya.. makes my day.... but I do wish it was more of the personal stuff than all this YOU get from other ppl !!!! If ya keep sending me all that, I might just have to start a book !!!! ...... think about it... I am sure YOU can come up with a clever way to word it so it is more like a joke than a demand or a disrespectful order..... I did the sort of thing grandma does, when I first got into the PC game.... my bro-n-law sent me a mess., asking me to stop it, it did hurt my feelings for a while, then I got over it and saw what he ment when other ppl starting and are still sending me that kind of thing..... I have on my yahoo a spam thing and most times they go there, but if not I just delete and go on about my daily business....... God bless

Just delete them. Grandma will most likely get tired of receiving and forwarding junk, in time.

If you don't want to tell her the truth then just set up a different email address and give it to her and tell her that your other one got messed up. That way she will send the junk to your new junk email, and not your current one.

My Aunt does the same thing to me!! I just delete them. They are really long winded and supposed to be "uplifting" but, I don't have time for that. I don't want to tell her to stop for fear that I might hurt her feelings and it just takes a second to hit the delete button.

Wow, get over yourself and be thankful you still have a grandma!!! I wish my dead grandma could fill up my box with junk mail! Give her a break and quit spoiling her golden years. I am impressed she even knows how to use a computer!
