There is such a thing called a rinse that is temporary. If I remember the brand is Roux. I think. A beauty supply house has them and probably most department and drug stores.

Remember that when you're using temp. hair color, you're adding to the natural color of your hair so the results will be darker than they would with a permanent color. You didn't ask for this, but I'll explain how color works. lol

A permanent color lifts your natural color pigments from the hairshaft and redeposits the color from the bottle to the shaft. A temporary color doesn't lift your natural color, it adds to your natural color.

Therefore, if you get a temp color and it's too dark, keep in mind that a permanent color won't be quite so dark.

And if you use a perm. color and don't like the results, wait a few days before trying anything else. And keep in mind the base color of the hair color. For instance, the color in the bottle after you mixed it, was it purple, green, blue, red, yellow? If you mix green with green, guess what color you're hair will be? and if you mix blue with yellow? Yeah.

Also, be careful with the semi-perm. and temp hair colors because sometimes they have reactive ingredients that when mixed with perm color can cause adverse reactions to your both your scalp and hair.

Be careful not to go too dark with a permanent hair dye. If you do (as I did myself once), a professional hair dresser will have to strip the color from your hair before applying a lighter shade. You might want to first try something temporary or semi-permanent (as wash out).
