Interesting parallel.
I never smoked in the high school bathroom either.
Hmmm.

I don't think intelligence plays into this, on that level. I have seen people who believe in God and their intelligence is, well, so low it wasn't worth even counting the IQ. I have also seen some who don't believe in God who are highly intelligent... I've also seen some who don't believe make rocks look smart.
But you make a good point. The Bible does push the idea that if you don't believe, then you are a fool. But I have yet to see a Mainstream religion that didn't say such things. And, of course, the followers always use those sayings to prove that only their own religion is right. *In other words, you have to first believe in their Religion before you can believe in their God* In the sense that it knows how to play on people's emotions/fears, it is intelligent. It plays the game better than most I have seen.

No, actually it actively tries to "convince" you of nothing.God is very clear: There is a choice to be made. Nobody is to take that choice from you. If you want to go against God, He says to let you do it to the fullest. Thats not to say we don't want to try to give you the knowledge to make a decision for God - we do. But if you don't want that knowledge, theres nothing we can do about that - its your ship, and God wants you to sail it.
We will be going into the eternity. We certainly do not want a repeat of this nonsense, and I assure you there will not be a repeat. This means that it is very important - even essential - that each individual do what they will do and show their true colors. I'd rather see you for what you are - and so would God.
He's the one that decided on this plan - and it seems like its going pretty well so far.
About being smart - well, the Bible doesn't say only smart people believe in God, but it does say that the people who believe in God are "living" and the others are "dead". So, you can decide for yourself which is "smart".

Good one! Christian by means of peer pressure! Well, it is a thought, but what about all those folks who leave Christianity for the same reason? Lots of college students decided it was cool to be known as an atheist or a Wiccan or what-not, and while these aren't as widely accepted in the world, they are often more accepted in the bathroom in the main campus cafeteria. The idea is to separate the posers from the true believers and go from there...

Why must people equate a differing view than their own as being "stupid?" Why must we have this name-calling?
I believe in God - I am an intelligent individual. I know many people who believe in God who are far less intelligent. I know many people who have no belief in God, but are very intelligent.
Does belief (or non-belief) come from "following the crowd?" - Sometimes. Sometimes the belief (or non-belief) is hard won.

"Is it God belief like smoking in the high school bathroom?"
Getting high on something that is bad for you? Yeah, I guess God belief is a lot like that.

No. For some people believing in a supreme being makes no sense. I tried to not believe, I truly tried. God would not let me go.
Most souls cross over. Whether you believe or not is immaterial to the eternal life of your soul.

No it doesnt do that. Subsititute "smart" with "wise" in your question and that is more what it says. Often intelligence and wisdom are completely different things.

No it is not "stupid".
But the Bible says:
"The fool has said in his heart,'there is no God'".
