The Tower of Babel (Babylon) was being built in an attempt for man to reach Heaven, but God destroyed it and made people speak various language so they could not attempt to rebuild it.

My question is, why did God destroy the Tower when humans have sent multiple manned spacecraft so high into the sky as to leave the atmosphere?

People THEN thought they were building to heaven.

It was to teach a LESSON.

The people thought they had the power to reach God. He destroyed the tower and made them speak different languages in order to show them He was in control. We have not gone into space as an attempt to get near God, but as an attempt to find out more about the solar system.

imagine what will happen if through the internet, within 50 years everyone will be speaking one language and that will last for a couple of generations until the old languages are forgotten. then comes a cataclysm and destroyes the net, as well as modern transport. people become isolated again and reinvent their languages :) that's sort of like the tower of babel.

Thats a good question. But I think God is slowly doing this now. Take a look at the climate now. The world is already talking about where people are going to go when the climate destroys their nation. History is going to repeat itself.
On the other hand, I do not believe Man walked on the moon or even went very far up into space. I was told man walked on the moon in Nevada, to devert the vietnam war. I better quit now.

I find no evidence in the Bible that God destroyed the tower. Why do you discredit God by putting men's words in his mouth??

He didn't think "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!" would be very convincing if they actually managed to reach him before the brainwashing was complete. ;-)
