The apsotles taught us to look to Christ for all the answers Christ is the Word of God. That is important because in the Word of God is the truth. Notice the "Word became Flesh" = Jesus became a human being" then the man Jesus became the "eternal high Priest". But he is still also the WORD of God.
So our instruction is from the apostles to abide in the Word of God. Both in the spirit of the Word (christ) and in the writen word. They are both intwined.
When any group of people are telling you to look at this and that and not the word they are leading you away from God and Christ. When men claim they have some speacial understanding or some special relationship with God they are point you away from God. All members of the body of Christ are equal according to God.
So if you church is promoting things not in contained in the bible it is pointing away from God and Christ. The word of God is profitable for the casting down of imaginations. That is the a scripture.

So how are imagination identified. Well you check it out in the word of God. If it was not taught by the apostles or God or the prophets then it is imagination. So are you doing that? God know the day would be living in and he provided the answer in the Word.

Why is this important. You eternal salvation is determined by it. Our faith is based in truth and no fable. God has warned us of false christ being taught in the latter times. And indeed they are. mormans, jehovah witness and the catholic faith are faiths that are promoting a imagination and not truth.
The mormans are promoting the fulliment of th lust in there faith a untilment God status.
The jehovah witness are premoting jesus is only a angle one of God many son.
The catholic are promoting a false priesthood that is not in scripture.
Actually that is the tip of the problems in these faiths. They are based on imagaination and not truth. Truth is contained in the word of God, out side of that there is no truth.
God loves all people but you can be saved and not follow God insturction and his truth. Following any thing else sends you to hell.

The battle is in the mind of the believer. Satan works thru imaginations. If he can get a priest to endorse it or the clurgy to embrace it. Every one follows that guy.
That is what happen in the catholic church.

Deception - Satan is the master at this. Deception is not simply a lie - it's a lie mixed with enough truth to make it sound right. He slips a little bit of his poison in the middle of real scripture, or he twists it just a little. This is the reason we need to be immersed in scripture every day so that we are more able to spot the twists and turns he throws at us.

Satan works in the churches the same way he worked in the garden of eden. He tries to get us to judge based on the knowledge of good and evil instead of the knowledge that we are the children of the most high God, who is our daddy.
