lip piercings?

i was just wondering what peoples opinons were about lip piercings? i have my lip pierced an i get alot of nasty looks. i dont think there is nothing wrong with it, i have a few others to, my tongue and eyebrow. and i also have tattoos. people stare at me all the time, what is everyone elses opinion on these things?

Hey I feel to each their own. I have my tongue pierced and I have 5 tattoos, one of which covers 3/4 of my back. The looks I get are unbelievable. Being a female with a big back piece, I like to show it off. My father once told me.. "A person with tattoos does not care if some one else has them, but a person without ink may look down on those who do" I think the same goes for piercings. It does not matter what others think, it is your body.

On the right face I love them. If a guy has the right face it looks really hot and is kind of fun to play with while kissing as well. On girls I think they look good. Three of my good friends have them done of the sides and one has her labret done. I think that piercings are as personal as tattoos. I have five cartilage piercings and volunteer at an elementary school, I get some of the nastiest looks from parents when my hair is up but I don't care. If others don't like them they don't have to worry about them because it is your body and your choice. That is the beauty of being an individual with all the choices in todays society. I personally want a couple tattoos and more piercings so people can deal with it if they don't like them.

Society will never except people who are different. Think of high school, how kids treated you if you were even a little bit different. I have found that even after high school people are still that way. I am a firm believer in its your body, do what you want. I have 3 tattoos and had my nipples pierced(ouch) and still have my belly button pierced. Don't let what people say or do or how they look at you bother you. You are who you are, and no one can change that. Be an individual, being a sheep isn't any fun. Good luck

You know what, I say 'be you' and don't worry about what other's think. Tattoos are a way to express art just like you would on a cavas except you as a person are a 'walking canvas'. I don't think there is anything wrong with your tattoos, pericings, or your indiviuality. I like the fact that you have your lip periced, but I think it's over rated now days, everyone is getting their lips peirced. Those are the three most common pericings are also and including the nose.

I like it all. The only reason why I may stare would be to get a better look at your tats. I'm not into the whole face tattooing thing though or the cut tongue thing. That's just too much!

i love tattoos and piercings so much. I had my back pierced into a corset and I tied a different color ribbon to it every other day.

People were curious and I loved the attention but some people said I was one of those masochism freak and I didnt like that but I loved my piercings and tatoos.

now I'm married, and this guy is against all my tatts and piercings, lucky for me, my tatts wont go away, but I had to take all my visual rings off, like my face and back. Now I only have ears and tongue. I respect my hubbys opinion, but he respects mine. So I like to keep it neutral, you cant see them, then you won't think less of me, plus taking them off makes you look more professional at interviews.

My ears were stretched but I took those off too, I went down a couple of levels.

I see it this way, priorities come first, but when it comes to respect, they better stare away before I spit in their eye....

I have 26 piercings and work as a professional piercer, I also have 5 tattoos and I'm working on many more. I love tattoos and piercings.

I personally do not care if people stare and look. I did the things that make me happy and its not my job to please anyone but myself. You like your lip ring, you did it for yourself. You need to ignore the looks and comments you get because they don't matter. What does matter is whether or not you are happy with your choices.

When you make a choice regarding your body, you have to take the possibility of approval as well as disapproval from others.So, is everyone else's opinion that important to you? It is and it will be your body for a long time ... so it is your attitude that matters after all. I personally am not fan of piercing, but I do strongly believe everyone has the right to choose freely.

I have my lip, tongue, eyebrow, nose, and belly button pierced.

I also have 5 tattoos.

If someone doesn't like it, they can close their eyes. You do what you do to your body because you want to. You don't need the world's opinions or approval. I say, you go!

Can I ask you something....do you like your piercings? because thats who you got them for, yourself right....so it doesn't matter who stares....this world is full of close minded people. I love all my piercings and I could care less who likes them or not, my mother isn't too keen on piercings, but she said to me "It's you body, and you pierce whatever you wanna, just be safe" Don't ever let anyone's opinions get to you. People who are affected by other people's opinions are walking clones, who wear the same clothes, talk the same etc, because they care what people think of them.
