I believe the primary resources are the things you quote directly from a source, and a secondary resource is a quote within a primary resource (that sites it to another source).
For instance: If you quote or take material from a sport magazine that is talking about the 2012 Olympics then the magazine is the primary resource which you must list. If the magazine quotes from another source and they list the other source then if you use that quote you must site the magazine as the primary and the origin of the quote as the secondary...
Good luck

It's both. As a primary source, it's as close to the original Jesus and Christian church as one can get. And this is the source from which the original teachings of Christianity come. As a secondary source, the bible provides a history of Jesus that was put together years after his death by many different authors. Also, much of the bible was transmitted orally and through different languages, so there is some valid criticism or interpretation that can be made just based on the things that are often lost in translation. Textbooks can be seen in a similar way. Sure, they provide information and analysis of past events (secondary source), but they also are a reflection of the time from which they were published (primary source). A book from the 1950s is bound to be different than one published today, even if they're discussing the same topics.

primary sources as things that were produced directly at that point in time/history e.g. the magna carta. Secondary sources are things produced about that time (not worded very well i'm afraid) e.g. books written about the magna carta.
or Primary - film taken of athletes running inthe 2004 Olympics
Secondary - film taken of someone talking about what they heard had happened.

Primary data is data that you have personally collected, so you know where it came from, and secondary data is information you have got from someone else who collected it. For extra info, tertiary is from someone who got it from the person who collected it etc.
