I think you have a good question; all the answers you have received are pretty good. The only problem is that a few people think they are so smart. They totally ignored the fact that your question was just to get Christians think about whether they know who God is or should they revise there opinion of him. Any one humble enough and Christ like enough would have figured it out and not made snappy rude comments. The “Christian only please” on the question was just a suggestive comment not to be controlling over who answered, saying the question was based for those who claim to be Christian. Those who answered rudely should think about what they are saying before they say it. Don’t jump to conclusions about any thing especially when you are not all knowing, and don’t call anyone trying to help others a hypocrite. You should not speak in such a manner being only human. Show respect to those who have found the truth and are humble and wise enough to accept it and not try to prove the infallible wrong. Just because you people out there don’t understand doesn’t mean it’s not true so stop thinking you are so smart and humble thy selves. You are nothing compared to god and have no reason to think you are. I shall pray for you in hope that God will grant you wisdom and intelligence enough to accept him and not deny your creator. God loves you and wants you!

God is the God of the Bible.
The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Check out the Nicene Creed, it is about a page long but is very good at explaining some of the roles they have.

Yeah, that was almost literate.
There's no point whatsoever in your "question." You're just another hypocrite praying loudly in the marketplace, and you want everybody to pat you on the back for your effort.
I assure you, you are already repaid.
"Who is god?" Well, for the typical "extremly strong in his faith chritian," god is a 2,000-years-dead magical carpenter. As for scripture, I'm willing to bet I know more about it than you ever will - which is why I don't believe in it.

You're so strong in your faith that you only want to hear from people who agree with you. Wow. I admire the strength of YOUR convictions. I notice you just have to be overbearing and controlling too, even in asking a question. Too bad that when you ask a question, you don't get to control who answers.
"Member god" is just as imaginary as your god. If you really knew when your leg is being pulled, you wouldn't be a Christian.

Well God is multi-faceted. Through life you will experience his characteristics in different ways. As you read Scripture you will encounter different aspects of God.
I have a listing of the names of God if you want. Most the names of God in the Bible are descriptive of who he is. You can IM me for this.
The strongest way that God has revealed himself to me as a God of Comfort.

Why are you asking who God is if you are a "strong in his faith Christian?" and asking only Christians. I don't get it.
God is my Father, my friend, my counselor, my big brother, my provider, my Savior, my Truth,.... There are well over 100 names.

Why would you ask Christians who God is? If you are a faithful Christian, why would you even post this question? Are you just here to proselytize to those that respond incorrectly according to your beliefs? Oh, and I am not a Christian...nanny nanny boo boo!
By the way, you might want to pray for spelling skills...

God is God.
I don't think we will ever have a clear picture of him, most of our names for him are descriptive. So we could say God is his Character.
God is Love, God is forgiveness, God is justice, God is God.
Maybe that's why his name is "I AM"
