My little brother Gado is 14,15 in march and he kinda...talks to his posters not conversations just sorta recounts his day...I know.He is alone most of the time because I have a new baby who HAS to be my first priority and my mother is a ***** who pays more attention to her boyfriend then him.He has alot of friends and gets good grades,he watches cartoons and plays video games-everything else is normal. He only started acting like this after her boyfriend moved in and this guy smokes weed and drinks, luckilly Gado has a stance against that kinda stuff but I wanna know if he needs help and if theres anything I can do to help him.

Not at all. Since he is just talking to them, not hearing things back he is fine. A lot of times people just need to talk when something stressful happens in their life, and even if their are a lot of good friends to listen it can be easierfor a lot of people to talk to an inanimate object, and it really helps if it has some sort of living creature likeness, whether it be a stuffed animal or a picture. Gado seems like a really good kid with his head on straight. Really the only thing you can do is talk to him a little mre if possible, i understand your new baby is first priority as it should be. But i would not be to concerned over the talking to the posters, and focus more on his daily lfe with his mother and her boyfriend.

Sounds like a bad situation for Gado. Poor guy! It's pretty obvious to me that he needs someone to talk to. If no one at home has the time or desire to listen to him, make it a point to do it yourself somehow or find a responsible adult or younger person to hang out with him. He's not in need of mental help, he's in need of a FRIEND!

It sounds like you are the best influence this kid has. Talk to him and be a good role model. See if there are any alateen groups in the area. Getting involved with a group of peers with similar situations (unavailable parents with drug or alcohol problems) can be very positive.
